Ojai Fire Station 21
Communication tower and equipment shelter for the Ventura County Fire Protection District, built inside the grounds of a station that stayed in service.

The small building
is not the project.
A sixty-foot tower, an eighty-square-foot shed, and a fire station that could not stop being a fire station.
Ventura County Fire Protection District needed to upgrade the communications infrastructure at Station 21 in Ojai. Written down, it is a tower and a small shelter. On the ground it is trenching, grounding, and a set of tie-ins to equipment an emergency facility depends on every hour of the day.
The tower is a 60-foot lattice structure on its own concrete foundation, carrying the antennas. Beside it sits a prefabricated equipment shelter of roughly 80 square feet on a poured entry pad. Between them and the station run new underground conduits for power, telecommunications and coaxial cable, with cable tray, bollards and pull boxes to match.
The exterior grounding system was completed and bonded, and the new equipment tied back into the station's existing power and communications. Where the work crossed the concrete driveway and paving, we restored it. The station's main building was retained and stayed in use throughout, so the site had to come back the way it was found.

The record.
Work on a building
that cannot close.
Stations, yards, schools and civic buildings keep operating while the work happens. That changes the sequencing, the site logistics and the paperwork, and it is the part most of the schedule is actually spent on. Send us the scope and we will tell you what it takes.
